Cesar Chicco, guest violist,
began his violin studies in Lima Peru at the National Peruvian Conservatory of
Music. He played with several ensembles including the Camerata de Lima,
Orquesta Armonia, the Peruvian National Symphony Orchestra and his own ensemble
called, La Orquesta de Camara Branderburgo. Mr. Chicco received an
honorable mention in several national soloist competitions winning second place
in the Concurso Nacional de Musica de Camara. In 1984 he received a
scholarship to play as a guest musician with the Simon Bolivar National
Orchestra in Caracas, Venezuela. In that same year he was invited to play
with a metropolitan ensemble in Bogota, Colombia. During his musical
career in Peru, Mr. Chicco toured the country several times under the auspices
of the Orquesta Nacional de Musica. He arrived in the US in 1987 and he
has since that time worked with several orchestras including the San Fernando
Valley Symphony Orchestra, the Pasadena Lyric Opera, Mesto, and as a guest
violist with the New American Quartet. Mr. Chicco coordinates his own
chamber orchestra called the Buena Ventura Chamber Ensemble and he also is a
music teacher with his private studio. He believes it is important and
necessary for him to be a preserver of the Peruvian Criollo music tradition.
His long musical career has provided him various opportunities to perform
alongside the talents of Richard Clayderman, Jorge Bolet, Astor Piazzola and
Barry White.
